FAQ
Is my data secure?
Yes. Your QuickBooks connection uses bank-level encryption, and your data is stored so that only you can access it, no one else using CFO in a Box can see your numbers. Everything is encrypted in transit too. The AI behind Advisor Chat is Claude, built by Anthropic, who maintain their own security and privacy practices for how that data is handled. We don’t sell your data, and it isn’t used to train AI models for other customers.
Does CFO in a Box replace my bookkeeper or accountant?
No. CFO in a Box gives you advice and answers based on your QuickBooks numbers, but it doesn’t do the bookkeeping (keeping your books accurate and current) or the tax and compliance work an accountant handles. Keep your bookkeeper and accountant. Think of CFO in a Box as the advisor who helps you make sense of what they’ve put together, not a replacement for either one.
What if I’m not on QuickBooks Online?
Right now, QuickBooks Online is the only accounting software CFO in a Box connects to, so it isn’t a good fit for your business yet if you use something else. If you move to QuickBooks Online later, you’ll be able to connect right away.
Do my books need to be in good shape to use this?
Yes, mostly. CFO in a Box gives you advice based on your real QuickBooks numbers, so if your books are seriously out of date or your accounts haven’t been reconciled in a long time, the advice you get won’t be reliable. Run a Health Check after connecting to see where things stand. If it turns up serious issues, it’s worth getting your books cleaned up first, either on your own or with a bookkeeper, before leaning on your advisor’s recommendations.
