Health Check

A review of how clean and current your books are, the kind of things worth fixing before they turn into bigger problems.

What gets checked

Eight things, each scored and added up into one number from 0 to 100:

• Transactions sitting uncategorized in your books
• Whether your data is current (no stalled bank feeds or old activity)
• Whether your bank and credit card accounts have been reconciled
• Unpaid invoices that are seriously overdue
• Unpaid bills that are seriously overdue
• Expenses that are missing a vendor name
• Duplicate or messy account names
• Department or location tags, if you use them

Reading your score

85 or above means your books are clean. 70 to 84 means they need some attention. Below that, your numbers may not be fully reliable yet. Every check tells you in plain language what’s wrong and exactly what to fix in QuickBooks.

When it runs

It runs automatically the first time you connect QuickBooks. After that, you can run it yourself whenever you want, right from the Financial Health page, to see if your fixes improved the score.
